What Defines Our Drivers?

Happy drivers make the best bus drivers! When hiring and training a driver, we first look for candidates that have great personalities (along with a good driving history, of course). We put an emphasis on cultivating drivers who will prioritize the customers’ experience, so you can always expect a friendly driver with great customer service skills!

Experience

Our coach bus drivers have the knowledge and experience to get you where you want to go! Our team has driven across all 48 continental states and all over Canada. We will always try to pair you up with a driver who has been to where you’re traveling, but even if you’re going somewhere new for us, every driver in our fleet carries a GPS system with them and stays up-to-date on local weather and traffic conditions. We do everything we can to get you to where you want to go safe and sound!

Communication

With Ground Travel Specialists, you’ll always stay up-to-date. All of our drivers carry cell phones, and you will receive their name and number before your trip even starts. Any member of your group can use this number to call the driver if you have any questions or if there is a change in the itinerary. Your driver is there for your needs, and wants to do whatever they can to keep you and your entire group safe and on-track!

Professionalism

When it comes to professionalism, we employ only the best. You will notice the Ground Travel Specialists difference from the very first time you meet your driver! He or she will be prompt to your pick-up, dressed professionally, and ready to take care of your group for the duration of your trip. Additionally, all of our drivers are knowledgeable about and compliant with all legal and safety regulations from the DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration).

Training

Before driving with our fleet, we put all of our drivers through a mandatory two-week training period, during which we can assess their level of comfort and confidence on the road. After graduating from basic training, we continue to train and reinforce their learning with quarterly safety and review meetings. During these meetings, management reviews company policies, DOT laws, safety habits, health protocols, customer service requirements, vehicle maintenance, and more. We do everything we can to ensure our drivers are armed with the knowledge and experience they need to take care of your group in any situation.

Resourcefulness

We work with all of our drivers to make sure they understand how to maintain and operate our entire fleet of coach buses and motorcoaches inside and out! Every driver is well-versed in pre-trip inspection protocols, good preventive maintenance, and basic vehicle repairs for all the vehicles in our fleet. Because of this training, on the small chance that you run into an unexpected issue on the road, your driver will have the proper tools and knowledge to deal with small repairs and get you up and running ASAP!
