Government Buildings

See where the country’s government is run at these important historical buildings. Both the White House and the Capitol building are open for tours, but make sure that you follow any rules and regulations about visiting. It is free to tour these buildings.

White House

If your group wishes to tour the White House, they need to submit a request through your member of Congress at least 21 days in advance, but less than three months ahead of time.

U.S. Capitol

It is free to tour the Capitol, but if you have a group of more than 15 people, you should reserve space before you come. The office of your Congress member may be able to provide you with a special tour, so reach out to them before your visit.
